One of the main objectives of the Kioto Protocol is reducing CO2 emissions for combating climate change globally. A key instrument to achieving a significant reduction in emissions is to incorporate the technologies of capture, transport and storage of CO2 in energy production processes. The development and commercial use of these technologies is very expensive, being necessary to know their economic, social and environmental impact. This article carries out an assessment of economic, social and environmental impact of the initial investment required for the implementation of these technologies in the Spanish electricity sector. In order to carry out this analysis impact, we use a multisectoral model that allows us to identify economic sectors that are benefited from the investments both directly and indirectly. In addition, labor market statistics are used to analyze the type of jobs created during the development of the necessary investments.
